Dear Morgan, The answer to your question is clearly - yes. I have operated on few transgender - male to female , and among the surgeries that I have done was butt implants. There is no difference in my technique or the implants that I use on males or females. The only difference is that in females I extend the pocket more laterally, to create round hips. You have to realize that not all results are the same, because there are different techniques (sub muscular, intra muscular and sub fascial) , different implants' shape ( round , oval round and oval bubble butt) and different softness (soft, ultra soft). Additionally, experience (I have operated on about 600 patients), skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good and safe outcome. So, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely, to avoid bad result and need for corrective surgery (one surgeon used saline implants ?! ). Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with nice 'S' curve, nice projection, round hips, low invisible scar and natural look. Best of luck, Dr Widder
Thank you for your question. Whether you are male or female does not determine your candidacy for gluteal implants. Candidacy can be determined at an in person consultation based on your individual anatomy, goals and overall health. Best wishes!
There is no difference between women or men in undergoing buttock implant surgery. The consideration of implant size, style and pocket location is identical for all genders. The only except is that in male to female transgender patients who usually have little buttock tissue, subfascial implant placement is usually needed to get a decent buttock size result.
