The answer is yes- it will absolutely affect your recovery, and quite possibly your final results, if you do not wear your compression garment until after the drains are removed. The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent swelling. If you don't wear it, your swelling is going to be much worse. This will make your recovery longer and possibly more painful, and can ultimately result in looser skin.
