My Temp crown fell off from a root canal re-treatment, will it be okay until I see my dentist?

My Temp crown fell off from a root canal re-treatment... Part of the filling holding the post had broken off and is attached to the temp Crown......I am unable to put it back on correctly. It is a weekend, will it be OK for two days until Monday? Thank you.

Hi:You should be ok until Monday.  However, make sure on Monday you go back to your dentist to assess the damage to the tooth.Best,Dr. Maddahi

For the weekend you should be fine if everything is sealed up correctly. Since it has been treated with a root canal it should not cause you any pain. There may be more treatment needed before the final crown is placed on however. Depending on the dentist they may decide to re-do the root canal to prevent any future infection or build the tooth back up if any tooth broke off with the temp crown. Hope this helps!
