this tooth really bothers me, but ive been told that bolding wont help
As the other doctors have suggested, a porcelain veneer would provide you with the best and longer lasting results. You need to consider how and why the edge of the one front tooth is shorter. If it is from bruxism which is grinding your teeth at nigh during your sleep, then that issue needs to be addressed or you will be very likely to break or chip the new veneer. Also, you need to compare the level of the gum line of that tooth with the adjacent front tooth. I can't tell with your photo. If they are even, then a veneer will do fine. If the gum line is higher on the worn tooth, that needs to be taken into consideration, as the resulting veneered tooth will look longer than the adjacent front tooth. Find a highly trained cosmetic dentist to help you. Good luck.
