How many hairs per square cm? I've been diagnosed with CTE and have been shedding for 2 years.

I recently had my scalp checked by a tricologist. She measured my hair density in the front (bang area) and back (crown area). I had 127 and 136 hairs per sq cm respectively.  Is this below normal hair density?

It depends on your background, but it does sound a little below the average, but still within the realm of normal hair densities, especially if you just naturally don't have very dense hair.

It really depends on your ethnic background. For a Cacausian, a number closer to 200 would be more in the realm of average density. I generally give the range 165-220. Individuals with afro textured hair have lower density.

I measure hair density by counting the hairs in each follicular unit. For CTE, some of the hair will be miniaturized so that is what you need to have measured.
