Artecoll injection on lower jaw for a week, so scared after knowing the side effects, considering of the removal.

Question

did this in a korean hospital called banobagi by a highly-experienced doctor who keeps telling me don't worry too much. but after knowing that the articoll is called time ticking bomb i'm so so so scared and considering if i should remove this as soon as possible. what if i get some terrible side effects in several years, would then be too late? though for now it's doing well but... what should i do? is the removal safe? can i inject hyaluronic acid after removal? thx a lot. plz help.

If the procedure was performed by an experienced surgeon using the right filler, with the right instruments and the right tissue planes complications should not occur. Do not base your decision on what you read on the Internet, anything and everything can have complications if performed incorrectly but your anxiety at this time would make any decision you take probably the wrong one. If you trust your doctor talk to him and ask him about his experience with this filler. I have used Artefill for many years without any problems. Good luck.

This is a great treatment if injected properly. Id suggest speaking to a cosmetic dermatologist with experience if you are concerned.  I would not worry about the long term effects now if the injections were done properly.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The names are all very confusing but if you had your injections in Korea, you did not get Artefill or Bellafill as it is now called.  Artefill is not sold in Korea.  It is only sold in the US, Canada and Singapore.  In Korea they have Artesense, which is the prior formulation to Artefill called Artecoll.  In general, it is alosmot identical but it did have a higher rate of forming lumps than the current newer generation of the product, Bellafill or Artefill.  You should be fine.  If you like your results then the only thing to do is wait.  If you do get lumps that you can see, the treatment is conservative injections with a steroid called Kenalog 10.  I hope that helps.  Best regards.
