TCA CROSS, in which an extremely high concentration of TCA (between 80100% concentrations) is place DOWN the shaft of the ice pick scar is specifically for the treatment of ice pick scars and other narrow scars, such as from a nose or lip piercing. This is not to be confused with ordinary TCA peels.I have been using TCA CROSS with very gratifying results for over twenty-five years for treating all kinds of pitted scars and dilated pores.
Ordinary TCA peels--in ranges from 10-50% (I.e. superficial to medium depth peels)--are intended for treating large areas of the face for improving generalized color and texture issues, such as melasma and very shallow scars. Especially in the higher concentration ranges, there are risks with these kinds of peels for adverse reactions, such as dyspigmentation and scarring.
