Answer: Three C-sections does not typically preclude you from being a candidate for gastric sleeve surgery Considering gastric sleeve surgery after having three C-sections is a valid concern, but generally, your history of cesarean deliveries would not pose a significant barrier to undergoing the procedure. Gastric sleeve surgery is performed laparoscopically, meaning it uses small incisions and specialized tools, which minimizes the risk of complications related to prior abdominal surgeries. However, there are a few factors to consider. Scar tissue, or adhesions, that may have formed from your C-sections could potentially complicate the surgical procedure. During the gastric sleeve operation, the surgeon works within the abdominal cavity, and the presence of adhesions could make navigation more challenging. This is something an experienced bariatric surgeon can assess and manage, often without issue. If needed, they can address any adhesions during the surgery. It’s also important to consider your overall healing and recovery process. Since you’ve already undergone multiple abdominal surgeries, your body may take slightly longer to heal or may have a slightly different postoperative experience than someone without prior surgeries. That being said, the recovery from laparoscopic gastric sleeve surgery is typically straightforward and less invasive compared to a cesarean section. During your consultation, your surgeon will take a detailed medical history, including your previous C-sections, and may order imaging studies such as an ultrasound or CT scan to assess the condition of your abdominal cavity. They will also review any risks specific to your situation and ensure that your prior surgeries will not interfere with the safety or effectiveness of the gastric sleeve. In summary, having had three C-sections does not typically preclude you from being a candidate for gastric sleeve surgery. With proper evaluation and care from an experienced surgeon, you can proceed confidently if this is the right choice for your weight-loss and health goals.

Answer: Hey! There's no contraindication for Gastric Sleeve when you have clinical history of C-sections. Contraindications for Gastric sleeve include severe heart failure, unstable coronary artery disease, end-stage lung disease, active cancer treatment, drug/alcohol dependency, and impaired intellectual capacity. In the case of LRYGB, Crohn’s disease is a relative contraindication. Furthermore, since these procedures are performed under general anesthesia, any contraindication to receiving general anesthesia would also be a contraindication for these surgeries. Hope this was helpful!

Answer: C sections Hi there your previous cesarean sections won't affect you from getting your VSG, but I would recommend waiting at least 6 months for you to get your sleeve done, so you can allow your body to recover from your previous pregnancy. The sleeve gastrectomy has shown to be a very effective metabolic procedure in obesity remission and control of metabolic diseases, helping you to achieve a healthier lifestyle. A.L
