Question

I used minoxidil 2x daily as directed for 11 months and experienced extreme collagen synthesis loss in my skin (the nurse on Rogaine phone line told me this is a semi common side effect whether you've heard of it or not and that i should discontinue use). also the original shed never recovered through continued use even when remaining hair thickened with texture change. What can I even do now?

Great question, this is the 2nd time( a colleague told me few years ago) that I heard about this possible Minoxidil side effect. You need a detailed evaluation and I will suggest you to see the hair loss specialist that recommended the medication. Good luck.

If you believe that the minoxidil has damaged your hair as long as 5 months ago, this is a new complaint to me. I would advise you to see a local dermatologist for a diagnosis
