I'm interested in masseter botox or a form of reconstructive/reduction jawline surgery. I have a very soft, round, wide, shortened face shape and my goal is to slim the face, targeting the lower width of my face, have a more elongated facial look and a sharper, slimmer v-line or heart shaped jaw and chin, while still maintaining good facial balance and symmetry. What procedure or treatment is recommended? I want to avoid buccal fat removal as I am 19 and want to remain a youthful appearance.
Answer: Jawline You will likely have the best results from a combination of treatments. Botox to the masseter muscles can help slim the jawline. Fillers like Juvederm Volux are specially designed to help contour the jawline. Other treatments such as Morpheus8 can address overall skin tone and texture. Vist my website or a provider near you to learn more.

Answer: Best Procedures to Slim and Define the Lower Face and Jawline Hello, Thank you for your thoughtful question—it's great that you're considering both your aesthetic goals and long-term facial balance at your age. For patients with a round, wide, or less-defined lower face who want to achieve a slimmer, more contoured appearance (such as a V-line or heart-shaped face), there are several non-surgical and surgical options to consider. Since you're looking to maintain a youthful look and avoid buccal fat removal, here are the most effective and recommended treatments: 1. Masseter Botox This is an excellent non-surgical starting point, especially if you have hypertrophy (enlargement) of the masseter muscles. It works by relaxing the muscle, which gradually slims the lower face over several weeks to months. It's safe, temporary, and helps create a narrower jawline without compromising natural fullness elsewhere in the face. 2. Chin and Jawline Filler Dermal fillers can enhance and elongate the chin or improve jawline definition, creating the illusion of a slimmer, more structured lower face. This is a customizable and reversible approach that works well for balancing proportions without surgery. 3. Kybella or Deoxycholic Acid Injections If there is any submental fullness (under-chin fat), Kybella can help contour this area. It permanently dissolves fat and enhances jawline definition when performed carefully. 4. Skin Tightening Treatments Radiofrequency (RF), ultrasound (like Ultherapy), or microneedling with RF can help tighten mild skin laxity and add contour to the face—especially useful if you're avoiding surgical intervention. 5. Surgical Options (If Considering Later) While reconstructive jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery or genioplasty) is an option for certain structural issues, it's typically reserved for more severe asymmetry or bite concerns. At 19, you're likely still a good candidate for non-invasive treatments first, especially since your facial bone structure is still maturing slightly. My Recommendation: Start with a consultation for masseter Botox and possibly chin/jawline filler to enhance facial harmony non-surgically. This approach is subtle, balanced, and ideal for someone your age who wants to avoid drastic or irreversible changes while still achieving a more defined look.

Answer: You have many options (Masseter, Fillers, Liposuction, etc) You're definitely on the right track! Achieving the desired look often requires a combination of approaches tailored to the individual's face shape. Each technique contributes uniquely to the overall result. Thinning the masseter muscle with Botox and enhancing the chin with filler or an implant are highly effective methods. For individuals with fullness in the buccal area, a conservative fat pad reduction can refine the facial contour without creating an aged appearance. Additionally, neck liposuction or jawline liposuction, combined with fillers along the jawline, can help sharpen and define facial features for a more sculpted look.

Answer: Procedures / treatments to target the lower width of face. Hi pastel_buttercup :)I understand you wanting a slimmer V-lined shaped face. It has always been popular here in Asia. First of all, I am sorry I cannot give you the best answer since I cannot see your face at the moment. Also it is better for a physician to do a thorough examination on your face in person. So he/she can assess your overall face, facial muscles, skin laxity, bone structure, facial fat and so on. There are actually many ways to make your face look slimmer - botox, fat dissolving injections, energy based devices, thread lifts, fillers and so on. But since you asked about masseter botox, here is a way to know if it may be helpful to you. If you do have bulging muscles when you bite down hard and you can palpate them on the both sides of the angles of your chin, it is somewhat effective to get masseter botox - however it will make your face look slimmer on both side so it may help with the overall contour on the outer side of your face - just making your face look smaller in width. Yet if you want that V line shaped look we need to assess you chin and overall contour of the U line at times and some chin filler may help to create that slimer look. Also some people have a tight mentalis muscle making there chin look somewhat tense and shorter. So a mentalis muscle botox can help as well. I hope this helped. Also don't forget you look beautiful just the way you are :) Good luck !
