Lumecca IPL. There doesn't seem to be any reviews of it that I can find. I was wondering what the doctors think of it.

Question

I am fair skinned, natural dark blond, green eyes, 40yr old. I have some brown spots from tanning when younger, I am now religious about hats & sunscreen when outside for the past 10yrs. I have broken capillaries (not to bad, but enough that I am self conscious without light makeup) & large pores (genetic as many in my family have the same skin). I use retin a .05 every other day.

This skill of a user is far more important than the brand name of a device.  While there he are differences between devices, far more important is the understanding of the device and skill of the user.  I would strongly encourage you to find a Physician who is extremely experienced administering IPL treatments and then pursuing the treatment they suggest.

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. This is the type of treatment. Lumecca is just a brand name. The effectiveness of any laser or IPL treatment depends on the experience of the person performing the treatment, and not which brand of laser he or she uses. If you are interested in IPL treatments, look for a physician in your area who has experience with this type of treatment. Best of luck to you!

I have used IPL lasers in my offices for nearly 15 years. I was the first doctor in Nevada to bring in IPL. Last year I switched from years and years of using Syneron equipment to using Lumecca. Lumecca was designed by the very first original creator of IPL. So, though the company is small, it is built on the skills of the people who started the IPL industry. The technology is amazing. It hits in the 500 range so it targets more pigment than any other IPL on the market because 40% of the energy hits the color in the 500 range, which is where hemoglobin (blood) is strongest. No other machine can do this. I am amazed by how powerful the machines are and what they are able to do in a single treatment vs what we used to do in 5 or more treatments. (You can look at a photo on this site of my staff member and what we were able to accomplish with just 1 Lumecca treatment for her.) I now have 2 Lumecca machines in my med spa that run 10 hours a day, each. I love the treatments and think they are far superior to everything else I've used or seen in the market. Remember that with all technologies, the experience of the people using the machine are just as important as the technology itself!
