I have some under eye hollowing but I don’t like the idea of injecting fillers. But I’ve seen a person get PRP injections to the under eye region and it looked good for about a week before it had looked like it went back to her normal appearance with dark circles. (And she wasn’t sleep deprived or just tired).
Answer: PRP for underage dark circles Think of PRP s a regenerative treatment rather than a filler. The growth factors in the PRP helps to regenerate collagen and healthy tissue and blood flow. The dark circles will lessen over time as the skin improves. There may be some volume improvement as well. For best results you will need to do multiple treatments and then maintenance treatments. I recommend doing three treatments a month apart then do one every 6 months of maintain.

Answer: EZ-PRF Injections PRF to the undereyes is an amazing treatment that is wonderful for those looking to rejuvenate their infraorbital hollows while avoiding using a hyaluronic acid filler. In my experience I’ve seen incredible results with PRF to treat dark circles and hollow undereyes. Even more revolutionary than PRF is EZ-PRF which changes the structure of PRF from liquid to gel. The gel formed PRF mimics a filler which allows us to fill the hollows providing a more rested appearance while still combating dark circles and providing continued results from the growth factors. Because we are altering the texture of the PRF it lasts longer than the liquid PRF and I have seen results last an average of 6 months. Results are dependent on each person, the amount of hollow space that needs to be filled, and how much product is used during treatment. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified experts to discuss your aesthetic goals. This way, they can work alongside you to determine your best treatment option. Best of luck, Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles -- Fillers Belotero, Volbella; Fraxel/Halo; emeragecosmetics ENLIGHTEN/AERIFY/COSMELAN PRP doesn't help the under eyes when injected. its better to use fillers, lasers and skincare. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (emerageskin roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP, cosmelan peels, and microneedling RF like Fractora or morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: PRP Thank you for your question. Injecting PRP into the under eyes is not meant to give you an immediate result. It was likely swelling that you noticed on your friend and why it looked "good". When injecting PRP the point is to stimulate collagen growth which takes months to see. As you continue to age you will slowly continue to lose collagen so the results will not last. People tend to do a maintenance treatment in order to maintain the results every year. Hope this helps!

Answer: How long do PRP injections last Thank you for your question. PRP can be an excellent choice for the under eye area without the risks associated with using filler. Results, however, are not immediate. The initial improvement in appearance that lasted for a week was probably from some swelling which occurs after PRP injection which usually subsides after a few days. PRP injections can help reduce dark circles, skin laxity, fine lines, and also with help with some volume loss. Usually at least three injections done about a month apart are needed to see noticeable improvement after which time injections every 6-12 months apart are needed to maintain results.
