I am looking to get double eyelid surgery and ptosis done at the same time. I know it will take 2-3 weeks to look ok for a normal, incisional surgery, but what about for an incisional surgery with ptosis repair as well? How long will it be before it looks like I haven't had surgery?
Answer: Swelling Normal after eyelid surgery Doing more than one eyelid procedure most likely will extend the recovery time. I tell my patients to expect some residual swelling for the first 2-3 months. A low salt diet, cool compresses during the first week and head elevation will help speed this process.

Answer: Healing time for ptosis surgery and Asian eyelid surgery at the same time I have a lot of experience in this area and approximately 30 to 40% of the Asian eyelid surgery that I do is either for asymmetry or ptosis.in general you're looking at the same 2 to 3 week window of healing as you would for standard incisional technique double eyelid surgery or Asian eyelid surgery.however there are some smaller things that will take longer to heal such as the area between the incision and the lashes may be more swollen than the non-ptosis eyelid for another month if not two months in some cases even longer. It is also not uncommon to temporarily see the white edge of the eyelid more than the other side for a number of weeks or months. Often times that show of the white edge doesn't occur at all but it does happen in some cases and you simply have to give it time. And lastly the thing you will have to be most patient with is the position of the eyelid itself. It may look perfect at first and then retract up a little bit or possibly even drop down a little but more commonly the position of the lid edge as a little bit lower than you would like in the first few weeks or months and then tends to rise it's just slightly. It's at this point the position of the eyelid is in its permanent place and is looking very nice. Advised to seek out an expert and Asian eyelid surgery but also someone who is very experienced and performing ptosis surgery.Chase Lay MD

Answer: Swelling after Asian Eyelid Surgery, Ptosis Surgery Eyelids tend to swell and bruise to a greater degree and for a longer period than most other areas. I advise my patients that after 8-10 days with clear replective lenses they can return to the public eye. By a month's time swelling and bruising should be diminished enough to appear presentable. Depending on the individual the resudual swelling subsides over the next several months. Please consult in person with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prior to making treatment decisions. Cheers.

Answer: Swelling after Asian eyelid surgery Following Asian eyelid surgery (even if ptosis repair is done simultaneously), you should be presentable in about 7-10 days. As a rule, following any facial surgery (or even trauma), 80% of swelling is generally gone by 2 weeks and 90% of swelling is generally gone by 2 months. The remaining 10% of your swelling gradually resolves over the remaining 10 months, which is why many doctors will tell you that it takes up to one year for post-operative swelling to resolve. I wish you well with your surgery

Answer: Asian blepharoplasty You can prepare for surgery by following your surgeon's instructions especially in regards to what medications and products to avoid in order to prevent bleeding. Then it is imperative to follow your surgeon's postoperative instructions to optimize your healing process. You should be sociable in 7-10 days. Depending on the thickness of your skin, it can take several weeks to months for all swelling to resolve and for your final result to be apparent.
