Answer: How long does it take the implants to drop? I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety you are experiencing after breast surgery. Sounds like you are “fresh” out of surgery, it is quite likely that you are experiencing significant “emotional ups and downs” unnecessarily. In other words, it is much too early to evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed; your breasts will undoubtedly change over the course of the next several weeks/months. Many of my patients report that as the swelling around the breast implants (for example, in the sternal area) decreases, they feel that their breasts appear more projecting. Also, in my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. Although online consultants cannot predict whether or not you will be pleased with the long-term outlook, of the procedure performed, it is safe to predict that the breasts will change. Do your best to stay emotionally even keeled. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with longer-term.

Answer: How long for breast implants to drop/ It takes three to four months for implants to drop, sometimes as long as six months. The breasts can have a square appearance for the first few months before the implants begin to settle. This is not uncommon. If you are unhappy with your size, discuss this with your surgeon. I would advise you to wait at least six months for final results before considering an implant size change.

Answer: Volume redistribution of the implant after breast augmentation may take as long as 68 weeks. Depending on the use of the patient as well as the implant size the volume of the prosthesis that is supported by postoperative swelling may take 6 to 8 weeks to completely redistribute.
