Question

I had about 14 years ago some injections in the lower and upper lips.she told me it was acid alleurico. Now I found out the she lie to me because is biopolimer. And I had pain sometimes and also get swollen.

Sorry to read about your concerns and hopefully you are not experiencing too much discomfort. I would suggest a lip reduction and removal of any product that is present through the same incision. This should help to reduce the amount of swelling int he lips and hopefully reduce the pain also.I hope this is of help to youBW

Hi Charlie,Sorry to hear about your situation. The best thing you can do is consider a lip reduction. Lip reduction is performed to reduce an overly prominent lip. Some patients are born with prominent lips that draw too much attention to their appearance. The lips of some patients who have had permanent filler injected such as silicone or Artefill can leave a very unnatural appearance. Charlie. Sorry you are having this problem, and lip reduction surgery is your best option for treatment because this permanent filler material has migrated and needs to be removed.   The procedure is done in the office, under local anesthesia, and it takes about one hour. Recovery is usually one week, as postop, the lips are quite swollen. The patient in the photo in the link provided had a similar problem. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon with lots of experience with lip surgery, good luck!

Your is a common issue, especially here in Miami since so many have injections in Central/South America (let alone Miami!)  This is typically fairly straightforward, done under local anesthesia as an outpatient with all sutures out and most swelling much better within one week. You do need to be cautious with your oral intake during that time as well.
