Your question says that this is a basal cell, however, your follow up message says that it's a mole.  So my first question to you would be, which is it?If it's a mole, it can easily be shaved with an excellent cosmetic result.  If you have had it biopsied, I would consider a Moh's removal to be sure it is entirely gone.   There are a number of wonderful Moh's surgeons in Chicago as well as dermatologists who can shave it for you.

Sorry to hear that you are dealing with this problem, but you should know that basal cells are exceedingly common and are very unlikely to cause you any problem after excision.  Fortunately, our skin has laxity, and often lesions of that size and in that locationcan be removed easily in an office procedure.  Most should heal with faint scars and without distortion of the lid or brow.  Whether your physician is a dermatologist or plastic surgeon make certain that they have great experience treating facial lesions.  Furthermore, make certain that your care does not end with the removal of the mole, but rather includes long term follow up, both to optimize scar care and perform skin surveillance for other concerning lesions.  Good luck!
