I received lipo of the abs and flanks on 11/1/17. I am experiencing burns from my garment that are now peeling, exposing pink flesh. My physician has advised me to continue to wear my garment. This doesnt appear to be the best route seeing as though these are burns. Any suggestions?

Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about your compression garment. I have my patients wear customized compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling and improve healing. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Burns after liposuction It is unlikely that your burns are from the garment, unless it is so tight that it is causing damage from friction. It is more likely that your burns are from the procedure itself. You need to follow up with the physician who performed the surgery. If they do not offer burn management, then you should seek a second opinion so that you do not experience scaring or permanent damage.
