Cause of bizarre tooth pain when eating soft foods?

I've been feeling pain in my three upper right rearmost molars while drinking and eating soft foods. Cool water is enough to cause sharp pain in these teeth. I can bite down on meats, nuts and other tough or hard foods with these teeth just fine, but chewing SOFT foods like bananas or fig newtons has started causing severe, almost preoccupying pain in these teeth. This started just after finishing a multi-year invisalign treatment 2 weeks ago - I was given a set of very tight retainers.

Your pain could be from a number of causes-from decay, to infection, to trauma, to improper fit of the retainers, to bite issues--the most likely is the retainer or the bite alignment.A simple test is to wear your last set of aligners as a retainer fro 2-7 days and see if the discomfort reduces. If it does it could be that the retainers need to be remade. If the issues remain then it could be that the bite or other issues on that side need to be addressed.Good luck
