I was woken up at 4am by a burning pain at my incision or drain area. I found a small bump on my scar . Should I worry? (photo)

Could be a suture abscess or cellulitis forming??? Why not see your surgeon ASAP?? Always best to be in contact with your surgeon for all postoperative issues.. 

It is totally normal to experience these symptoms. Likely there is a suture beneath the skin that has not totally dissolved yet and is trying to work it's way out through the skin. This can cause burning and pain. It can also cause drainage. The scar at the site of the drain can also hurt for a long time until the scar matures and softens. It will take months, not days or weeks for most symptoms to totally resolve. It is however normal.

Ususlly when you feel a bump on or close to your incision, it may be a suture that has not dissolved. Sutures that do not dissolve on their own can be bothersome. The best thing to do is call your surgeon . It is simple to have the stitch removed in the office.
