Hi, I would like to know what Doctors give their patients (men) in terms of dosages for oral minoxidil for hair loss, I am currently on 1mg daily but I am not sure if this is a low dose for a male for treating hair loss as the only information I get online for 1mg is that it is more suited for women's hair loss. I am thinking of upping it to 2mg but would like an opinion or gauge on what other doctors offer to their patients (males)? thank you,

Answer: Dose for minoxidil tablets male pattern hair loss
When you combined steroids, weight loss and stress, hair loss can occur and any genetics for balding can then be 'turned on'. When this happens, the hair loss may not return. Finiasteride might help!
It may affect absorption when your hair or your scalp is wet. It is recommended that the hair be dried and treated with this drug to avoid affecting the effect.
It truly depends on how much rubbing there is in that certain area. Since it sounds like it will be short term there shouldn’t be a problem. To be safe you might want to put some sort of padding in there anyway.
