1 day post op Laser Hair Removal, I have burns and black marks around the anus. Is this normal? (photos)

I did laser hair removal yesterday and it hurt A LOT. I feel fine now it doesn't hurt but after inspecting my body I noticed huge black scary marks around my anus and I'm terrified that they are permanent or something. my skin always gets red and bumpy after laser hair removal and it goes away after a day or two. This is completely different please help me I don't know what to do. I've attached a picture of one side. It's like this on the other side too. Please tell me what this is.

The dark area does appear to be a burn unfortunately. While rare, this can happen on occasion. Inform your provider of your result so they can adjust the settings of your treatment. Good hygiene and wound care is top priority til the wound heals. Based on the area, infection could easily occur otherwise.

It appears to be a burn to me. Apply Biafene liberally to the area. Long term pigmentation issues are possible. Make sure the person that gave you treatment is legally allowed to do so in your state. Some offices delegate this to people who are not qualified or not supposed to be doing this to save costs. I do all laser procedures in my office and have 25 years of laser experience. Even in the best hands burns can happen but they are less likely.
