cz almost every clinic that I call and visit would say that their machine is the best, last clinic I went to ,the doctor there was using cynosure with air-cooling system, that alarmed me cz i'd heard from other doctors that was an old technology n gives u burns,..i hardly managed to get a refund n leave.. I've another option of gentleyag which I think is better since they don't use air-cooling atleast. what do I do?
Answer: Best Technology for Laser Hair Removal Thank you for your question. There is no one best laser out there. For your skin type, your hair will probably respond better to a longer wavelength, such as a 1064 nm. Also, contact cooling is our cooling method of choice to protect the epidermis from depigmentation. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have these treatments. I hope this helps.

Answer: Laser Hair Removal In my office I have the GentleMax Pro machine by Candela/Syneron; I believe that this machine is gold standard in hair removal. This machine has a dual wavelength that contains the Alexandrite and the Nd:Yag technologies. Having both wavelengths allows me to treat all skin types. The Alex should be used on lighter skin types and the Nd:Yag should be used on darker skin types like Asian, Hispanic, Indian etc. This machine uses a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology to protect the upper layers of your skin with a cooling burst of cryogen right before the laser pulse for optimal hair removal with minimal side effects. For best treatment it is important to shave the area the night before or morning of treatment and have your treatments about 6-8 weeks apart. Most patients will require at least 5 treatments but may require more. It is best to have a consultation with a Board Certified Dermatologist to see if this procedure is right for you.For more information on GentleMax Pro click link below:

Answer: What laser is best for hair reduction The purpose of air cooling is to make your treatment more comfortable. Additionally, the cooler the surface is, the harder the laser will target into the skin and the hair follicles. Lasers and lights are attracted to color and heat. Air cooling means the surface is cold so the light or laser goes in deeper and easier to target the follicles. There are tons of laser hair removal systems on the market and there's not just "one" good one out there. In general you probably want a diode or Alexandrite laser. But more than that, you want technicians with experience in treating Asian skin. Because Asian skin in general appears lighter, but has a good amount of pigment in it, many places will treat it with too high of settings that result in burns and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I've fixed a lot of this over the years. So pick an office with good experience, and a machine that is a diode or Alexandrite laser. These target right in the sweet spot for hair follicles. And I'd definitely opt for an office with air chilling for comfort and efficacy.
