Increased hair growth with GentleMax Pro Laser, what to do next?

I went for 4 or more sessions at American Laser who use GentleMax Pro and I saw increased hair growth on my chin, neck and sides. I am an asian with brown skin. I am wondering if I need to go to a more professional skin care specialist and get my skin diagonosed or is laser not for my skin type.

Hi SGA.  The information contained in your questions does not give us enough to comment completely, but we can help by explaining the challenges with laser hair removal more generally.The Gentlemax pro is a good piece of equipment for laser hair removal because it contains 2 effective wavelengths (Alexandrite and Yag) for laser hair removal.  With that said, we do not know which wavelength was used for you or what settings (what energy) were used.  If we were treating you, we would likely have used the Alexandrite wavelength unless you are very dark Asian with very coarse hair. Even if this wavelength was used, if the settings were too low, you would not achieve good results.  This is related to the experience and quality of the person doing the treatment and how they actually perform it.The net of all this is that the technology AND the practitioner both matter for your results.  We believe that the laser involved is certainly capable of delivering permanent hair removal, so if you did not get it, it's worth finding another practice. A.  Hello, sorry to hear you have had unsatisfactory results with the GentleMax Pro laser. Without knowing the laser settings it is hard to tell if you were being treated at the right frequency for your skin type. I would consider going to a highly qualified physician for another evaluation of your skin and second opinion.  Good luck to you.
