Eye area wrinkly after glycolic acid toner

Question

I used glycolic acid 7% toner and the next day my skin appeared red, irritated and dry. Eye area is dry and way more wrinkly than it used to be. I stopped using the toner and now am using SPF to protect my skin. It's not a permanent damage, is it? When do you think it will go back to normal?

Glycolic acid causes exfoliation of dead surface skin so there can be some dryness. If the area is also red, there is some inflammation and the acid was too strong for your skin type. Use a moisturizer and sun protection and within a week the area should return to normal. A dermatologist can recommend which products would be best for your skin type.
