Question

I suffer a breast abscess in my left breast and it's on going for about 10 years I'm hoping to have curative surgery this spring. I've had antibiotics (clindamycin) as well as more then 1 incisions and drainages also have been fitted with a pico dressing(negative pressure dressing) which helps then when removed the abscess breaks through the skin within a few day of removal. Over the last 12 months it's not healed any longer than 3 days before returning and breaking through the skin again.

Dear jadelaity,
As long as you have an active infection, you are not a candidate for breast augmentation surgery. IT would be best to treat your infection to eradicate it completely before you start considering a BA surgery.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Assuming you are able to clear the chronic infection permanently, and you are otherwise a good candidate for surgery, you will be able to get a breast augmentation.

You will not be cleared for aesthetic surgery if you are suffering from an active infection that reoccurs without treatment. Undergoing surgery will just make things worse, since you will then have another skin opening through the incisions and may cause further infection after surgery. The best option for now is to manage the abscess first and allow the breast to heal fully before considering aesthetic surgery to avoid unnecessary complications.

You are not a candidate while you have any chronic infection, especially in the breasts. That inflamed area may need to be completely excised now because of all of the scar tissue. Once it settles down and is healed completely for 6 months with no flairs ups, you may then be able to have the surgery.
