I have tired, puffy eyes. Can contacts or thyroid issues cause this?

I have tired looking eyes and face most of the time. I have no clue if this is due to wearing eye contacts for so many years even after the expiration date has passed within months or it's just my thyroids medical are to blame since I have high thyroids issues. Thank you.

Contacts shouldn't cause bags but your thyroid condition could be affecting them. There are lots of non-surgical options such as fillers that can help the diminish the appearance of under eye bags. My best,

Puffiness can be due to many things, but circles and fat pads can be improved with non invasive approaches with fillers and lasers.  Radiofrequency treatments like venus legacy work well to stimulate blood flow in this are and decrease puffiness.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Cannot comment accurately without photos. Long term contact lens wear can cause upper eyelid ptosis but it won't cause eye bags. Thyroid can cause eye bags.
