Going on a vacation 2 weeks after bichectomy?

Question

Hello, I’m planning to have bichectomy done in a few weeks but would it be okay if I go on a vacation (hotel, sun and beach kind of) 2 weeks after bichectomy? Or should I just not risk it and wait? Thanks a lot.

Generally speaking one should be fine to go on a vacation after buccal fat pad reduction as long as there are no arising post operative issues.  This is a very rewarding procedure. Best of luck and enjoy!

Every patient and protocol is different per surgeon and technique.  A relaxing beach vacation seems likely possible after buccal fat removal barring any unforeseen postoperative issues.  Shorter duration and targeted surgery typically leads to less swelling.  Best Dr. Anil Shah

Patients undergoing buccal fat removal should adhere to the post-surgical recommendations given by the surgeon performing the procedure. 
In my practice I recommend my buccal fat removal patients do not expose the face to direct beach kind sun light for at least 4 weeks after surgery. Direct intense sunlight (light beach sun) could worsen the post surgical swelling, thus lengthening the recovery process.

I think that going on vacation two weeks after this procedure to remove the cheek fat pads should not lead to any problems. Go ahead and go on vacation! Be sure to talk to your surgeon to make sure that there are no other issues.
