I'm 30 year old and in general I don't need too many treatments. My skin is ok! I just want to rejuvenate it. And later get rid of redness. I can't treat redness and rejuvenate the skin at the same time? What's your take? What should I start first?
Answer: Vbeam to reduce redness combined with micro needling and prp as a serum. Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to discuss the best treatment options for your type of skin. . Answer: Treatment decisions include many elements Self-deciding about various procedures you may have read about can be a bit risky. There are many elements a dermatologist takes into account when recommending a specific treatment that you may not realize you need to consider. Ethnic background, lifestyle, medical conditions, medications, previous treatments and outcomes, current skin care products and routines...they may seem irrelevant, but they aren't. As doctors, we can explain how various procedures can be beneficial, but the ones beneficial to YOU are determined carefully in person. We will always recommend you see a board certified dermatologist with ample experience - especially when it comes to laser. Lasers will typically induce redness, though there are lasers for which their sole purpose is treating redness. Microneedling will also cause some some or substantial redness dependent upon the aggressiveness levels. PRP is an adjunct to speedier healing. If you already have skin redness, it is to your advantage to learn first if this is Rosacea or sensitivity, as the underlying cause influences the treatment decisions.

Answer: Removing facial redness I suggest having a few in person consultations with local dermatologist. For overall skin health my number one recommendation is to wear sunscreen every day and avoid excessive sun exposure. In regards to the treatments I suggest discussing this during consultations and seeing which ones you like. They’re not going to give you permanent changes so it’s a matter of maintenance and therefore trying different treatments may be worthwhile. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Rejuvenating Skin in a 30 Year Old One of the biggest misconceptions is that you need "treatments" to rejuvenate or maintain your skin. Most of this is fostered by practitioners who make money off the treatments and, thus, encourage their use. What you needed to this point was good skin care. That is a good cleanser, a pH balancer (I prefer Vitamin-C Serum as it also does other things), an exfoliant, and a good zinc oxide sunblock. Now that you are 30 and your skin stops making new collagen and elastic tissue, you also need retinol or tretinoin (Retin-A) to stimulate collagen production and Obagi's ELASTIderm to stimulate elastic tissue production, both to keep your skin from crinkling or wrinkling.
