Eyebrow tattoo turned black after first laser removal session. Will this improve after the second session? (photo)

Hello,What you are seeing is an expected reaction with cosmetic tattoo ink when it "oxidizes" or degrades with laser treatments.  Unfortunately, it's apparent that your practitioner did not prepare you for this so that you may make an informed decision on whether to move forward with treatments or not.  The change in color is what makes cosmetic ink far more challenging than standard decorative ink for body tattoos.  The color change is unpredictable but common, and this process makes things look worse before they look better.  Your progress will continue to move forward with fading of the dark ink given the right practitioner, settings, and time.  Please see the below link for further information. 

Depending on the ink used, cosmetic tattoos can sometimes oxidize and turn black during treatment.  With further treatment, this will also fade.  Aside from warning patients about this particular phenomenon, I treat cosmetic tattoos just like regular tattoos.
