Are Excel Cutera and IPL the same lasers but with different brand?

The Excel V is a laser which has 2 wavelengths, 1064nm and 532nm. A laser is collimated of a single wavelength. IPL is Intense Pulsed Light and consists of broadband of light (multiple wavelengths) which is narrowed to small spectrum using filters. In general, lasers have more energy and are better to target reds and telangiectasias. The only advantage of the IPL might be in diffuse redness such as rosacea but that's debatable. This is not a branding issue, its 2 different technologies. Surprisingly, many providers describe the IPL as a laser and don't completely understand the differences.
