I will be getting my bbl surgery in Mexico and returning back home at 11 days post-op. I plan to take a bbl pillow to sit on my thighs but even so, can the airplane ride (3 hour flight non-stop back home) negatively effect my results for that period of time that I will have to sit on the bbl pillow? Any airplane travel tips during post-op?

The best person to advice you is your specific surgeon as every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. With my patients no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions. The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. It will be good if you stand up and walk a little during your flight to keep the blood flowing.

Flying does not affect the bbl, but I recommend you to use a boopy pillow to sit, during the flight and for the next 8 weeks from the procedure also for sleep too.

Answer: Surgery results Thank you for your question.If you are other wise following instructions and limiting how much you are sitting, a 3 hour plane ride should not really determine your end result. My main concern would be flying so quickly after surgery, because you can be at an increased risk for blood clots. I would discuss this with your surgeon and make sure they are in agreement and feel it is safe for you to fly after surgery. Good luck.
