Dentist said if I want it removed I need to see a specialist  Or my dentist can just fill the root and leave the piece of metal in there. Is this metal dangerous to my body?

Hi:It's best to remove the broken file to get the best seal on the root canal.  The main danger is lack of seal and re-infection of the tooth.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Without an xray it is impossible to give you a good answer to your question. Many times an endodontist can remove the broken file and create a more ideal seal to your root canal. It is not a matter of the metal being harmful to your body. It is a matter of how well sealed the root canal is and how long it will last. I suggest visiting the specialist.
