Uneven lower back after liposuction. Will these lumps go away? (Photo)

After liposuction there is a lot of swelling, and usually 2 or 3 weeks after, there is scar tissue formation under the skin, that creates bumps and unevenness, and the lymphatic drainage massage will help reducing the swelling and also to soften the scar tissue. The scar tissue formation is a normal process that starts around the second week after the surgery and ends around 6 months later, but in the first 3 months you can see a lot of improvement in those areas.

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal.

Two weeks after liposuction is still very early in the healing process. It takes about 6 weeks to really start to see the results of your liposuction and 6 months to have the "final" result. Yes, lymphatic massages can definitely help break down any hard lumps in the areas that were liposuctioned. As far as the uneven areas on our back, try to be patient and give your body some time to heal. Surface irregularities and asymmetry is common after liposuction and is quoted in the text books/literature to occur in up to 30% of patients after liposuction. If after 3 months, you are still unhappy with the results of your back, you can always talk to your PS about touch up liposuction.
