What is the best way to treat this area?
Answer: Arm lift arm reduction brachioplasty arm liposuction excess arm skin arm laxity loose biceps skin excess arm fat Hello, thank you for your questions and photos regarding excessive, loose elbow and biceps skin. From your pictures, I believe you would be best served with an elbow lift, or better yet, a formal arm lift. During an elbow or arm lift, excess upper arm skin is directly removed. The skin that is removed is in the shape of an ellipse. The elbow and upper arm are significantly tightened. The incision and resulting arm scar are well hidden in the inside of the upper arm, all above the elbow. The final result are nice, tight elbows and upper arms without any loose, hanging arm skin. Please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience in arm lift surgery. Thank you for your question regarding excess elbow skin and loose arm skin. If you have any other questions regarding the elbow lift, arm lift, arm reduction, or arm liposuction, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.

Answer: Age and Environmental Skin Changes Hello, This is not 'sagging' skin, just skin with a loss of elasticity. Therefore, to affect a change you need to change the micro architecture of the skin, not simply 'tighten' it by surgical excision. Currently there is no modality that substantially changes the components of your skin, e.g. collagen alignment and elastin content. Although there are a lot of high tech products out there, I've not seen any truly change these fine wrinkles in the skin.

Answer: Treatment for sagging skin at inner elbow Age-related hormonal changes, weight fluctuations, reduced physical activity and gravitational pull all contribute to sagging skin. I recommend that you schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon who can determine if an elbow tuck, or BodyTite would provide the results you are seeking. An elbow tuck could be considered and can be performed under local anesthesia. The scar would be about the length of the wrinkles at the fold. With its ability to safely and precisely heat the soft tissue that is being contoured, BodyTite™ which is gentle, safe, and effective could provide superior skin tightening effects with no down time.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Sagging skin in inner arm at the elbow bend and bicep, not loose in triceps After viewing your photos, I feel the problem is caused by loss of elasticity of the skin. This is usually caused by sun damage, normal aging and genetics. This is not treated surgically. Unfortunately, I have not seen significant improvements with the other modalities, such as lasers.
