Is my butt going to drop? (3 weeks BBL post op) (photos)

Question

Hello, I have a huge concern. I got my surgery December 16th and my butt is nice from the back just the side view is weird. Is like a shelf then goes flat. Is the shelf going to drop? Do you all think I need a round 2? Im just not pleased but maybe I’m speaking ahead of myself since it may be to early to determine the final result.

It has been my experience that the buttock does drop a bit as the healing process continues.  You should always contact your PS about postoperative instructions and concerns. Surgery and the recovery period is a complex interaction of what was performed and how your body reacts; swelling can continue for six months or longer.  There are not going to be easy answers to this online, because there is not enough known to make an intelligent recommendation.  I make myself available to my patients  by email and phone both before and after surgery for this very reason.

Thank you for your question. You're still in the early stage of healing and should still have swelling.  After the surgery there is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.  Best is to give it some time and if you're still concerned and unhappy with the results then make sure to folllow up woth your specific surgeon so that he/she can take a look.

Hi-      Please try and be patient through the healing process. BBL takes months to heal and the result cannot be assessed until at least 3-6 months depending on swelling. I understand that you want to see a result immediately but the body takes time to heal and 50-60% of the fat graft will get reabsorbed so there is no way to make any judgement on your result until things all heal. You are now  a bit over 3 weeks post-op.  This is still early in the recovery process; you still have bruising and swelling that need to resovle.  I appreciate what you said about the shape of your buttocks; but it is way early to make any conclusions about your results.  It is fine and appropriate to discuss your concerns with your surgeon, bu tbe patient.  Hope this helps
