I got bbl on March 13 and I’m 20 days post op everything looks good but my left butt check has this throbbing achy pain deep within the butt cheek that hurts so badly. It gets worse while applying any pressure but the pain is always there.. It is a centralized pain it doesn’t spread but this one particular part of my butt cheek has so much pain is this normal or should I be concerned?
Answer: Pain Dear Gati123, I understand your concern. 20 days after BBL surgery, you should have no major pain. Without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: CONSULT WITH YOUR PLASTIC SURGEON ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS. Hello Gati123, I’m sorry for the adverse symptoms you’re experiencing. The swelling and pain during the first 3-9 days is significant, and most patients will have difficulties moving around. However, your surgeon will prescribe pain medication to handle any pain that might be involved and help you feel much more comfortable. Refrain from strenuous activity for the first month after surgery and contact your surgeon promptly if you notice an increase in swelling, pain, redness, drainage, or bleeding in the surgical area, or if you develop fever (above 100.4 F), dizziness, nausea, or vomiting. Since you are feeling acute pain 3 weeks after surgery, I would suggest contacting your plastic surgeon to discuss your particular concerns. He/she has intimate knowledge about the procedure performed and detailed familiarity about your potential complications. You might be delaying your recovery by not contacting your plastic surgeon. Hope this is helpful! Dr. De La Cruz.

Answer: 20 days post-op. Why does my left butt cheek hurt so badly after my BBL? Is this normal or should I be concerned? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation and discomfort are normal. This should improve over time, but if it doesn't , please follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)

Answer: Post op Pain Gati,It is not unusual to have more pain on one side after surgery, but it should be getting better every few days. A physical exam might better enlighten what is going on. Is there a lump as well?Sometimes, a small steroid shot in or near the area relieves the pain.Best of luck.Dr T
