Why would the effects of Botox seem to be wearing off after 2 days, when I have followed all the post procedures exactly?

You are early in your post procedure course. Usually the patient sees the start of the neuromodulators, (Botox Dysport, Xeomin), working at day 4.  The fillers usually see some result early, but some modulation continues.  In our office we have patients come back at 2 weeks for their check on their neuromodulator or filler.  At that point, most of the swelling is usually down, and we have an idea of the result.  This may be delayed if the patient has a bruise.  Often, asymmetry can be improved.  If you desire more volume, most practices would charge you, as they have to pay for the product, etc.  Please make sure your well trained, experienced injector knows your current status.Jeffrey J.  Typically Botox does not take e effect for 5-7 days.  You may have felt that your Botox was working after the injection (within the first 2 days) due to a small amount of swelling from the actual injection itself.  GIve it a little more time to take full effect (10 days to 14 days). Follow back up with your provider if more units are needed for the best correction.  Thank you for your question.

Please have patience, botox doens't work in 1 day. It takes 7-14 days to take full effect, if after that time you are not happy please speak to your physician.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Dear Teresa,it is far too early to see the final outcome yet. Botox takes between 3 to 14 days to show full result. Please wait up to 14 days from the date of treatment and see your practitioner if you are still unhappy with the result. 

Thank you for your question. I would strongly invite you to wait for a couple weeks to allow the full effects of Botox to take place. After this point, I would return to your injector if there are any concerns.

understandable that you'd be frustrated if you thought your BOTOX results were
wearing off after only 2 days, when, in fact, they should last for 3 or 4
months. But I think you're worried prematurely. BOTOX results take 7 to 10 days
to emerge, so the improvement you saw might have just been from some swelling
at the injection site. Some patients even feel like it takes up to a month for
optimal BOTOX results. This may be because the results are enhanced after the
skin has gone through a few weeks of exfoliation and renewal. Of course, if
you're truly worried, you should return to your provider and discuss your
concerns with him or her. A good provider will make sure that you are satisfied
with your treatment, and that you get the results you were promised. Best of

I am not sure about the education that you received from your injector, but BOTOX does not typically yield an effect for about 5 days.  It is difficult to explain your initial findings. It is critical for patients to understand how BOTOX produces its result, and the result to expect from the specific injection.  With this knowledge in hand, patient disappointment with BOTOX treatment should be minimal.  

You likely had a small amount of swelling 1-2 days post injection and no effect of the Botox. It will take 3-7 days to see the full effect of your Botox. Hi teresaolwick, Botox takes about 3-7 days to fully settle in.  Botox is a botulism toxin that slowly relaxes muscle movement and works in 99% of the population. You shouldn't know if it is or is not working yet.   If you are still having movement after 1 week, I would follow up with your injector. Best of luck

Give the botox  2 weeks for the full effect. If it has not  kicked in go back to your injector.
