6 days post microneedling. Will an adverse reaction to facial moisturizer hamper the positive effects of microneedling?

I had microneedling done about 6 days ago at a reputable plastic surgeon's office. After this procedure (done in the morning) I made the mistake of putting on a heavy facial moisturizer that evening just before bed. Next day I woke up with a break out of sorts on my face. The breakout has lessened, and I have no itching, but my face is still quite red. Should I be concerned? And, would any kind of adverse affect like this, hamper the long term results of what is typically a good outcome for me?

Thanks for your question. It is possible you gave your skin too much moisture with the use of a heavy night cream. It is important to treat your skin with extreme care the next few days, being careful not to overwhelm it. Use a gentle cleanser and a light moisturizer with sunscreen, and contact the office that administered the treatment.
