Does cocaine use cause a deviated septum? I have done a septoplasty and part of me is worried that I may have done damage to my septum to the point that I needed surgery. I may be wrong and it may have been congenital and my septum was doomed in the first place. I did not mention to my ent doc that I used. Would they let me know the cause was drugs if I did not say anything? Do repeated sinus infections cause permanent breathing issues later on/ does a deviated septum get worse as one ages?

Thank you for your question and photos. I recommend that you have a rhinoplasty and septoplasty. These surgeries are commonly performed at the same time. Please be seen in person by a board certified plastic surgeon who is an expert in these procedures. All the best,Dr....

The short answer is yes. The dorsal septal deviation can be addressed but it is more involved than your initial surgery. I would recommend consulting with a surgeon comfortable with revision functional nasal surgery and they can give you more detail after an in person examination. Best of luck
