Any changes in external appearance for cosmetic improvement will not be covered by insurance. The breathing aspects are sometimes covered by insurance. There can be many causes for breathing difficulties, and a deviated septum may be one. The cost without insurance may be $5000 or so for a routine septoplasty for breathing issues. To straighten the nose more will be required than a septoplasty.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA
Thank you for your question and photo. The simple answer is that it depends. Please be seen in person by a board certified plastic surgeon who is an expert in the procedure. During your consultation, you can discuss pricing. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
This depends on a host of issues - doctor, location, hospital vs office, anesthesia, etc... Typically in Florida, a simple out-of-pocket septoplasty will cost anywhere between $3000 and $5000.
It's impossible to give you an accurate range without knowing who will perform your surgery. It could range from $1500-5500 depending upon who will be performing the procedure, how much time they will take and what formula they use to determine cost to you. There is not only the surgeon fee but also facility fees and anesthesia costs. In cases like yours I prefer to bill the patient what insurance typically would have paid for the procedure if it is performed to help you breathe. Other surgeons might charge you for the equivalent OR time for a cosmetic procedure which could cost you 3-4 times more. Seek out a consultation with a highly experienced nasal surgery expert. This could be a Facial Plastic Surgeon or ENT. If the cost seems excessive seek a second opinion. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
The fee for Septoplasty out of pocket will vary significantly across the country. South Florida fees are generally much less than more expensive cities such as New York or Los Angeles. We charge starting at $3000 + MD Anesthesia related expenses for Septoplasty. To ensure the best possible quality at the best value, consult with surgeons who own their own nationally accredited surgery center. Consult with 3 experienced and expert board certified surgeons to understand your options.
The cost of a septoplasty is directly related the amount of time it takes to perform the procedure in the operating room, time under anesthesia, and the surgeon's professional fee for performing the procedure. For more information and our current price list, please see link and the video below
Costs for cosmetic procedures vary by office and location. There are several different ways of approaching correction of a crooked nose, septoplasty being a part of that picture. An in person consultation with a plastic surgeon you trust would be a great first step, so your doctor can perform a thorough analysis of your history, your nose, and your specific complaints. You may find that insurance does or does not cover treatment of your specific issue.
Dear Jacksteady, This would require a consultation and examination to determine the exact fee. Your approximate costs in Orange County would be $3000.00 - $5000.00 including the operating room expenses and the anesthesia fee. Most consultations are complimentary so you can see some experts in the field of septoplasty for consultation, have a full examination with diagnosis, and then a surgical fee quoted. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
The short answer is yes. The dorsal septal deviation can be addressed but it is more involved than your initial surgery. I would recommend consulting with a surgeon comfortable with revision functional nasal surgery and they can give you more detail after an in person examination. Best of luck
The cost of the septoplasty is driven by 3 fees which included the amount of time it takes to perform the procedure in the operating room, time under anesthesia, and the surgeon's fee for performing the septoplasty procedure. The price of the procedure is going to vary significantly...
Generally, a septoplasty is performed to straighten a deviated septum inside the nose when the deviation is causing nasal airway obstruction. The external nose is usually left unchanged. Changing the external nose is generally referred to as a rhinoplasty operation...
