Bulging forehead vein removal. Suggestions? (photo)

Question

I have prominent bulging forehead veins that are apparent every time I smile and in certain lighting. I really would like them removed so I don’t look like a Klingon for the rest of my days. ;) I will not consider sclerotherapy because though the likelihood of risks is low, the possible outcome could be disastrous. I’ve read that the safest approach would be to surgically remove the veins. I have still not found a doctor in LA who has performed this procedure. Any suggestions?

Sclerotherapy is safe if done by an experienced provider.  Compression must be held over the angular veins during and for 20 seconds after injection to prevent migration of foam into the cavernous sinus.  A microphlebectomy done with or without sclerotherapy is also safe and effective.  A phlebectomy can be done under local anesthetic through 1mm needle holes.

I used to treat forehead veins with a combination of sclerotherapy and microphlebectomies.  About 6 years ago I began using only sclerotherapy with equal excellent results to sclero/micro combination and thus, eliminating any need for small incisions.  Sclerotherapy works well when done by someone with experience treating veins in this area.  The only drawback to this treatment is that more than one session may be required.
