Stitch from double eyelid suture is spitting out?

Stitch extrusion occurs in a small percentage of patients. It may cause the crease to loosen. Have your eyelid evaluated by your surgeon.

The spitting suture if left there can cause infection, even if it is a monofilament suture, as we usually use non-absorbable sutures for DST. I would return to the surgeon right away! At this point, you likely have built enough scar tissue to hold the fold. It would be up to your surgeon if and when the suture should be replaced.
