Am I candidate for buccal fat removal? What will the long-term results look like? (photos)

Hi there. I have been told many times that I'd be a great candidate for BF Removal. I've been bullied my whole life for having a wide square look to my face. I feel like this is what I need to do but I don't want to age my face. Do you see any of your patients 10-20 years later after doing their surgery? And, if so, do they still look good? Are there other options to me?

Patients such as yourself with a full lower face usually benefit from buccal fat removal.  However, in your case, you may also benefit from Botox injection to the masseters to help slim the lower face.  These two treatments target slightly different parts of your face.

There is general concern that buccal fat removal can make a person look older but this seems less pertinent to patients who have very full faces.

If you are concerned about the permanence of the buccal fat removal, start with the Botox injection to your masseters.  This may slim down your jawline enough for you to be satisfied.

If your aesthetic goal is to taper down the lower third of your face, there are a few different options. If you are looking for a more temporary, less invasive option you may consider masseter reduction with Botox. Another option would be to do a buccal fat pad removal procedure which is ideal for patients who have excess buccal (cheek) fat. This will allow for slimming of the cheeks and greater definition of the cheek bones. Buccal fat removal will provide lasting results that do not require touch ups in comparison to Botox for masseter reduction. Although these options work on different areas, they create a similar effect of tapering the jaw line. Consult with a board certified surgeon to ensure the best results. @drdonyoo
