Festoons or Malar Bags? Can CO2 laser help? (Photo)

Question

I have what is called festoons or Malar Bags. I tried fillers in that area but they didn't work at all. I read that a CO2 laser can help. Can anyone help me with this problem ? It's really bothering me.

FMorpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

a combination approach is needed to help this.  although there is no cure as this is genetic.  fillers, lasers, and RF treatments work best.  Dr. Emer.

Malar festoons are typically due to areas of lax skin and loose subcutaneous tissue accumulating edema. Tightening the skin using CO2 laser it is one option to help improve the area.

Thank you for your question Roxane.vdb. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an outstanding
treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single treatment. It is difficult to see the area in this photograph. However, for patients with festoons, depending on the severity a number of different options are available including eye creams, fillers such as Restylane, ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing (such as fractional CO2), and surgical blepharoplasty. Please consult with a
