Can my tilted smile be corrected? And what treatment options are there? (photo)

Question

My teeth in the ride side of my mouth slope upwards, creating a horizon tap title along my top teeth. This has given me bite problems and cosmetically looks bad. Is there anything I can i besides veneers?

The first thing to do is to identify the cause of the inclination, it can be osseous and dental or only dental, it can also be due to grinding or malocclusion. I would recommend a consultation with an orthodontist, with clinical and radiographic analysis, and consider the possibility of Invisalign. If you make veneers and do not solve the cause, the most likely is that the fix of the inclination is temporary.

It may be possible to simply add porcelain to lengthen the teeth on the upper right.  Many times it can be done with no or little preparation to the existing tooth.  The porcelain is thin and will blend to your natural tooth seamlessly.Of course study models would be necessary to analyze your bite to see if this would indeed be possible. In addition it would be helpful to do add some composite to these teeth temporarily to see what the result would look like.

It's hard to appreciate the amount of sloping or what we call a "canted" smile because we can't see your eyes or other parts of your face that we reference to assess this further but it's safe to say that most often this is a skeletal problem or one related to the development of the bones of the jaws. It is possible that this could be a genetic trait or the result of a jaw joint injury that shortened your lower jaw on the right side and the upper jaw followed in its development. The bottom line is that this is not something that Invisalign or any orthodontic technique alone is likely to correct. Seek advice from a practitioner who understands TMJ development and orthodontics to get the best advice.
