Please someone help me. Is this permanent damage? (Photo)

Question

I recently I used a 14% glycolic acid on my face and neck for chemical exfoliation over the counter product and I forgot to use sunscreen. Now my face and neck is darker like a Hyperpigmentation issue. A big spot. Discoloration. I don't know what to do, is it permanent damage ? i made it worse it looks worse than the picture in live all around my neck where ever I applied the product and the places where the sun was exposed. please help me the pictures are not doing any justice.

At this point, I would suggest reversing the damage as much as possible. Begin with daily application of sunscreen + use of Melarase creams at least twice a day to combat the hyperpigmentation. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

you don't say how long ago the acid was applied but at any rate you need to use a sunscreen with A and B block with SPF 30 every morning, apply 1% hydrocortisone cream at night on moist skin.  if it does not clear in 2 weeks you should see a dermatologist as there are prescription medicines to treat this
