What exactly is PRP injections used for and can it be used to enhance your gluteus?

Okay. So I recently started hearing about this infamous PRP rejuvenation injections for your face and was told by someone that they also had their PRP injected into their butt (done every week) in order to enhance their butt and promote growth. How valid is this and is it possible? I have been looking for information based on only the prp injected into your butt and all I found was BBL with enriched PRP.

PRP
(platelet rich plasma) is a collection of growth factors that come from your
own body.  You have blood drawn just as
you would for your labs and then the blood is processed to collect the plasma
(and thus the growth factors).

This
has been used in multiple applications and has become extremely popular in
orthopedic surgery.  It can be used in
plastic surgery alone or more commonly in conjunction with fat transfer. It is
then mixed with the fat in an attempt to increase the survival of the fat that
has been transferred.

The
issue with fat transfer has been making sure that the results last and that you
keep as much of the fat as possible for your augmentation.  Currently between 30 to 50% of the fat that is
lost over the first year. What is present after that time will remain and
change naturally over time with your weight changes.

In
small studies it has been shown to increase the amount of fat that survives
after a Brazilian Butt Lift or other fat transfer procedures.  It will take more time to know how much it
helps in fat survival but it appears that it does have positive affect in the
results of your Brazilian Butt Lift.

PRP (platelet rich plasma) uses your own blood and separates the platelets within for injection in different areas of the body. I like using this for for fine wrinkles around the eyes, however, typically does not provide a tremendous amount of volume. The best injectable for the Gluteal region is your own fat, if that is not available, Sculptra or PRP maybe used. Because of the sheer volume needed, these treatments will be quite costly.

There is not efficacy to date proven using PRP for gluteal enhancement. The best choice now is using fat.
