I am not aware of any non-surgical method to create dimples. I am not a huge proponent of this type of surgery, but if you are considering it, I would consult with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon.
Dear Ray,There is no way to create dimples withOUT surgery, but there is absolutely a surgical procedure to create dimples! While many doctors may not have learned how to perform this surgery, it doesn't mean that the surgical procedure doesn't exist! A dimple is actually a defect from birth, or one created from a trauma: soft tissue is missing between the skin and mucous membrane of the mouth, creating an indentation. A dimple can be created through a surgical incision made inside the cheek. Some soft tissue between the mucous membrane and skin is removed and sutures are placed to attach the mucous membrane to the skin. A surgical defect is created, and as a result, so is a dimple. The procedure is safe when done by a capable and experienced surgeon. The ultimate shape, size and depth of the dimple are not predictable; ultimately, the body's healing process will play a role in the end result---as with any incision. All the best,Dr. Michelle Yagoda
I agree that dimples can be very attractive. Creating dimples is not a routine facial procedure and I would be extremely wary of any sort of physician who would promise you that you could successfully, and safely have dimples created. The best facial operations are those that help restore appearance after aging or perhaps adjust a persons appearance if their appearance is distractingly abnormal. Surgery is complex and risky. You risk significant cost and possible damage to undergo a procedures just to try to change an otherwise normal facial appearance. I recommend against it! Stay safe!! I hope this helps!
Cheek dimples can be made to be very deep to more shallow depending upon the surgical technique. It is not precisely predictable how deep the cheek dimple will stay as it heals. Usually a surgically created cheek dimple will not be present when you smile but only appears when you do.
Yes. You can have dimpleplasty to enhance existing dimples. This procedure involves a small incision inside the mouth. The dimples are re-created with a temporary suture to tack the skin of the dimple to the underlying muscles. Patients are typically very happy with the results. I hope this...
Unfortunately, its just not possible to achieve permanent dimples on your cheeks by pressing on them. The good news though is that the dimple creation procedure is very quick and performed under a local anaesthetic. Results are exaggerated at first but soften and relax into natural...
