Will crying intensely after IPL reopen veins on face?

Hi. I had ipl and laser to treat facial redness and veins on Wednesday at 6pm. It is now Sunday 7pm where I am, but today I got quite upset due to personal reasons and it seems like my face is red again. I also used the gym this morning. Do you think the redness will go away?

When treating facial redness it takes multiple treatments to improve/resolve the redness. We usually tell patients no strenuous activity for 48 hrs post treatment. However, the increase of blood flow caused from crying will cause flushing which is what caused the redness. This should not affect your results, the redness is normal and will improve over time. If the episodes continue the blood vessel could then be affected but not after likely after just 1 treatment. Hope all is better now!

I hope that the personal situation that lead to your crying has improved or resolved.  
Anything that causes flushing and blushing can lead to increased redness.  Some turn very red with crying and others do not.  Nevertheless, it is over repeated episodes of flushing that leads to the redness in the face.  I don't believe that the one episode reversed the treatment.  The good news is that IPL (we use Sciton BBL) can be repeated when the redness recurs.  It is rare that one treatment treats all the reds and browns.  Take good care!

Crying after IPL won't affect your results.
