Hello! I just had a breast reduction 7 days ago today by a wonderful surgeon. I know everyone is told to wait a few months for normality. My only concern really is that my one breast is larger than the other. My left breast has always been bigger than my right. My surgeon said that to compensate, he took more from my left. But my left is bigger than my right still? Will those even out? Is it more swollen since more was removed? Other than that, I feel good enough to do cartwheels! Thanks!

Answer: Volume asymmetry shortly after breast reduction is common.
Thank you for the question and pictures. You may be pleasantly surprised, that in the long term, irregularities and “pleating” along the incision lines will smoothen out nicely. Best to evaluate the outcome of the procedure 6 months to one year postoperatively.
Best wishes.
